"We had a brilliant week’s holiday at 46 Le Ponant at the end of August 2011. The apartment was really comfortable (air conditioned) and felt very secure. You needed your key for the two outside doors, and an elevator PIN code before arriving at the door of the apartment on the third floor.
The apartment was in a great location, away from the main hustle and bustle, yet only five minutes walk from the train station, which is very handy when visiting around the area (we didn’t have a car, though there’s a garage if you have one). The centre of Cannes, Palais des Festivals, and beaches were all close by just a few minutes beyond the station. We felt very safe walking around in the day and in the evening.
As a family, we prefer to self-cater and were delighted to find not only an Intermarché supermarket grocery but also a Picard, a freezer supermarket with great quality food, both at the end of the road a minute or two away. There are also daily markets close by to buy fresh produce.
The apartment was spacious and very clean and well equipped, with a great entertainment centre (DVDs, a wide selection of TV channels and an iPod dock we used all the time). We had all of our meals on the balcony, which is a good size and a great place to relax. We made good use of the well-appointed swimming pool too. Alan C. |
“The apartment at Le Ponant is just as advertised. Roomy, clean, and nicely furnished. It easily accommodated our group of five, one of whom uses a wheelchair. It’s an absolute joy to eat breakfast with some coffee on the terrace and to return later to have a glass of wine. The living room/dining area is great for chatting with your group. The location is pretty much ideal. The train station is just a few blocks away, which we took full advantage of for day trips to Grasse and Monaco. It is just a 5 minute walk to the beach and a little closer to get to the farmer’s market where we got fresh food to use for our breakfast. Other meals were taken out…the closest good restaurant is at the end of the street, as is the grocery store where anything you need can be bought easily. The two pools on the property were very refreshing in the late summer heat and offered another place where your group can congregate together at the end of a long day. For disabled guests, the building has complete step-free access, including the pool. There is no roll-in shower but both the bathtub and shower stall have showerheads on a hose. The agent met us just when she said she would and was on-site on the last day meaning we could leave on time without having to track her down. The owner responds very fast to any e-mails for enquiries and is very easy to deal with. I look forward to staying here again when I am in Cannes.”

_________________________________________________________________________________ The proximity to various facilities was ideal--supermarket, various fresh food shops, pharmacy and a Lidl for all Lidl fans. Buses (1 Euro!!) and the train station were a short walk away and the beach approximatley 15 minutes. It was ideal for exploring further along the coast and into the hills. David |

The inside and outside of the property was very clean with plenty of security. It was very easy to check in and check out. The location is only ten minutes walking from the city center and also very easy to get to A8. All bedrooms open to a balcony and have adequate closet space. The place is provided with all electrical needs and everything is in good working order. The kitchen was well equipped with all our needs.

___________________________________________________________________________________ "Fantastic -the website is true!- The description and photographs of the apartment are very accurate but there is a wow factor when you open the front door. It is very modern, clean, spacious airconditioned apartment with a fantastic balcony and pool. We had read all this on the website but it still exceeded our expectations. You do get the sense of entering a luxury block of apartments because of the security, marble construction and cleanliness. It is a slow short walk (6-8 minutes) to the railway station and then a short walk (6-8) minutes to the beach through the shopping centre. We ate out and walked home at 9-10pm and felt perfectly safe. Francoise , the concierge, was an excellent help as was the owner Mathias, who was very helpful through the whole process.
